Karen Bubb, Cultural Planner at the City of Boise, Department of Arts & History will share a brief history of public art planning and programs in Boise, recent public private partnerships, and the value - economic and cultural - that arts can bring to real estate projects.

    Karen has a passion for Boise’s cultural scene and wears many hats while partnering with others to advance Boise’s cultural environment.
     
    She is Boise’s cultural planner, Surel’s Place artist-in-residence program co-founder and board member, Alexa Rose Foundation’s trustee, a visual artist showing at Capitol Contemporary Gallery, and a BSU PhD student in public administration and policy.
     
    Karen experiences first-hand how a vibrant cultural scene is built through public, private, and non-profit partnerships and is always exploring new ways to bring the community together to do what none of us can do alone.
