ULI Idaho was formed in 2004 through the initiative of Quentin Knipe, Stoel Rives, LLP. With a beginning membership of 40, the District Council grew to 252 members in 2008 and currently has a membership of 145. During the recession, ULI membership lost was greatest among its Young Leaders. During this time, ULI maintained a secure financial standing by trimming program costs and focusing on membership based, volunteer assistance to local communities. Since its inception, the District Council has organized 75 education forums with over 3,000 members and non-members in attendance, provided technical assistance on four projects to local governments, and has been awarded four grants for research on land use practices.
ULI Idaho provides leadership on the responsible use of land and sustaining Idaho communities through:
• the research and educational resources of ULI;
• technical advisory panels by local ULI members; and
• mobilization of community members and key decision makers via informational and educational forums for projects with community wide impact.
