    Ride the VRT bus with us and learn about the future of mass transit in the valley.

     

    Join ULI and Valley Regional Transit for a bus tour and conversation around the future of mass transit and transit oriented development. We will fill a VRT bus and ride to a few stops, hearing from Stephen Hunt and discussing the following topics:


    • Electric vehicles and electric charging stations
    • Carbon neutrality and environmental design
    • Funding for public transportation
    • Transportation partners (i.e., cities, ACHD, ITD, COMPASS, VRT)- who funds what and how they work together
    • Long-term transportation plans for the Treasure Valley
    • Fuel sources and environmental benefits
    • The City of Boise’s Climate Action Plan

    Stephen Hunt

    Valley Regional Transit

    Stephen has a Master’s Degree in transit planning and has worked in the transit industry for more than 15 years. He is committed to planning transit that helps communities realize their full potential. At King County Metro Stephen lead the agency’s integration of transit accessibility measures and the development of the agency’s long range plan. Stephen is currently the Chief Development Officer at Valley Regional Transit and has worked with local jurisdictions to identify service networks that support their development goals and increases the public’s mobility.

    CEO, Valley Regional Transit I have a unique ability to apply my knowledge and imagination to problem solve and offer practical, realistic, and creative solutions. I have served my community in a variety of ways as a volunteer, non-profit executive and as an elected official over the last 30 years. This distinctive combination of citizen advocate, non-profit executive and elected decision maker experience has broadened my perspective and ability to build consensus and find the right actions to implement real change. Years of on the ground experience finding solutions to sticky issues in transportation land use policy. this expertise has been put to work to develop comprehensive plans, bicycle and pedestrians plans, model ordinances and more assisting Idaho communities to protect their quality of life while finding ways to grow that are sustainable.
