Chris Dwyer was born and raised in Boise, Idaho. His childhood home was built in 1909 and almost always had a room undergoing extensive restoration and remodeling. The constant changing of the space in which he lived and playing with Legos for years likely led to his studying architecture at the Fay Jones School of Architecture and Design at the University of Arkansas. After graduating from the Arkansas architecture program, Chris moved to Aspen and worked for Poss for over eight years. After leaving Poss, he traveled through Southeast Asia for four months before moving back to Boise. He ultimately decided to work for a large multistate architecture and engineering firm which has a significant presence in Boise. There, Chris engaged in multifamily, commercial, retail, and master planning projects. He also became very involved in the Urban Land Institute (ULI). Chris currently sits on the management board for ULI and founded the Placemaking and Design Product Council within the Idaho Chapter. He is also a member of Idaho Chapter of AIA, NCARB, and the International Code Council. As of February 1, 2022, Chris accepted an invitation to rejoin Poss and start the firm’s Boise office. He enjoys working with clients to bring their projects from initial concept to reality. The fact that architects wear so many different hats throughout a project is a constant challenge that he embraces. In addition to working with clients, Chris is always exploring new ways to grow the Boise office for Poss. Chris has traveled extensively within the United States, Europe, and Asia.
